Job Title: Installation Engineer / Pipefitter 

Salary: Starting salary £25,000+ but will be dependent on experience

Location: National Cover (Predominately South East)

Hours: Full time but flexibility is required


Successful candidates do not need to have previous experience in the fuel industry but must have a practical mind-set and a career history in a mechanical background is advantageous. You may have previous experience in plumbing, mechanics, or as a gas/service engineer. You may be a multi skilled maintenance engineer who is looking for a career in the petroleum industry. 

As well as being from a service/engineer background, the successful candidate will also be a logical thinker, pro-active with good fault finding abilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a niche industry and to develop with a growing company. We are seeking an individual who has the desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competences to enhance personal and team capability. Please note this is a physically demanding job.

Full UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA) training will be given to the successful candidate.

Our client will also consider applications from those who have a technical aptitude with an interest in engineering who would like to start a career in this sector.


Job Responsibilities

• Installation of fuel lines which includes the installation of tank lid work (steel) and the pipework (plastic) fuel lines.
• Carry out routine maintenance work to fuel pumps on live petroleum sites to a high standard
• Responsibility of completion of all paperwork (job reports and surveys) when on site and ensuring all paperwork is promptly returned to the office 
• Spot and report any potential incidents on site and make safe as required
• Fault finding and coming up with solutions to problems on site
• Working on own initiative to carry out daily workload

Person Requirements

• UK Driving licence is essential
• Previous experience in an engineering or mechanical background – for example, plumbing, mechanics, or as a gas/service engineer
• Grade C or above in GSCE English and Maths
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• A good awareness of health & safety
• Strong problem solving skills
• Comfortable working independently
• Confident dealing with customers face to face
